Before the mic, there was the page. Every song on I Used To Write Poetry started the same way it always did — with a pen, a feeling, and nowhere else to put it.
That's the whole idea behind the EP, and the reason it's taken the shape it has. These aren't songs that were written to a beat first. They were poems — journal entries, half-finished letters, things I needed to say out loud to myself before I could say them to anyone else. The production came after, built around what the words already needed: soft-spoken confessions over late-night production, equal parts vulnerability and bite.

Two sides of one voice
The catalog leading into the EP splits into two halves. The Holy Appeal is the sharper side — U Da Focus, Hate Da Haters, Plenty — Alternative R&B with some Alternative Hip-Hop bite. The Breathe In Sessions strips it back down: Bite BACC (Acoustic), Cookie Jar (Instrumental), Not A Grudge (Instrumental) — the same songs with nowhere to hide.
Put both sides together and that's basically the whole method: write it as a poem, dress it up, then take the dressing back off and see if it still holds. If it does, it's honest. If it doesn't, it goes back to the page.
What to expect in August
The debut EP, I Used To Write Poetry, arrives August 2026. It's Alternative R&B, Modern Soul, and Contemporary Pop-Soul, made in Los Angeles, and it's exactly what the title says — poetry you can press play on.
